S!
I am interested in joining your squad. I come from the CFS1 and 2 era, where I was a member of the 334th. I have now gotten back into the dogfight arena and seek a motivated and dedicated squad. Great site and hope to hear from you.

S~ Lanny Welcome to the JG26 forum. Below is a summary of our pilot skill test that is part of our procedure for applicant members I would be happy to assist as all of our members would in your efforts for membership in JG26. Practice these basic flight manouvers and we can schedule a time for a test flight. Post a time here or if you see one of us in HL contact the member if you have any questions. Most of us fly in Hyperlobby so you are welcome to join any coops or dogfight missions we fly. Currently we are transitioning to the History Mod HSFX 4.0, this pack installs over IL2 4.09m so that would be something that you would need if you become a member. Below is a summary of our flight test procedures developed by JG26_Irish. Team Speak is required for communication. The tryout covers five basic skills. The following tests shall be used by all JG26 recruiter officers: Settings: External view on, icons can be on or off, usually on, and mini map is on. Externals are for the instructor pilot to observe the student during certain manuvers and not to be used by the student. You are on your honor for this. 1. Basic Flight Skill: Student shall select any German aircraft of his/her choosing and take off, circle the field and land successfully. You have three attempts to make a safe landing. 2. Navigation and formation flight with Rotte Pair: Instructor and Student shall take off together and form up in a rotte pair and fly together to another airbase. Student should keep leader in sight and within approx. 500m remaining above and behind at 4-5 or 7-8 o'clock. 3. Aerial Gunnery: Student shall intercept a single bomber of instructor's choosing and attack until the bomber is successfully shot down. Student gets three aircraft and three lives to kill one bomber. This is to allow for the occasionally lucky tail gunner. Instructor is looking for gunnery skill, and good tactical approach. B25, A20 or IL2 are all good choices of bomber. B17 is also a good one. 4. Aerial Combat Maneuvering: Student shall select any German fighter aircraft and Instructor shall select any propeller fighter. The two shall take off and separate by having one fly north and the other fly south for a few minutes. On the instructors call the fight is on and the student is to seek to engage and shoot down the instructor. This segment does not require the student to successfully kill the instructor but it don't hurt. Instructor is seeking to evaluate the student's relative skill level as fighter combat pilot. This is a subjective judgment. 5. Dead stick landing in open territory: Student to take off and climb to 1000m, then cut engine and successfully land in open field. Seek to walk away without seriously damaging the aircraft. wheels up belly landings are acceptable, wheels down landing on road or highway or other flat smooth (i.e. Frozen river, etc.) area is a plus. This is to simulate long flight with flak or battle damage. Saving the pilot and the plane will often improve the odds in the next mission. Once all five have been completed to the instructor's satisfaction the instructor shall make the decision to offer a pilot commission into JG26 or not. If offered and accepted, the new pilot shall choose his/her call sign and the instructor shall post for all to see in the general forum. New pilots are expected to train with their Stafel leaders on a regular basis to improve teamwork and procedure. S~ JG26_Badger
