I have been wondering since I have been back in the squad if anyone would be interested in flying a Saturday or Sunday DCG campaign. I know we have all flown many different dcg's and it seems to lack the excitement after a few missions and the attendance starts to slip. The last DCG I was involved in we done things differently and keep the campaign going for a good long time. By first allowing the dcg to generate missions then going into the FMB and picking are own priority targets for ground strike fighter sweep, and high level bombers. Each player involved would receive a copy of the mission prior to start time,we then had a strategic briefing session to pick our targets set our flight path ingress altitude egress altitude without editing the original mission. This was done full switch except for externals and the speed bar. So navigation is a must because way points generated by the dcg would most of the time be null and void after the briefing. It is very rewarding to see the dynamic change in the front after only a few missions. One tactic we employed as a rule was to split the ground attack aircraft one group would draw fire while the other dropped and attacked this tactic proved invaluable in completing our missions with pilot losses to ground fire and flak always kept at a very low rate. The other rule of thumb was no human bombers without human escort. I am tweaking a Kurland campaign and would like to host a couple missions this weekend if anyone is interested in trying this out please PM me with your email so I can send you a copy of the mission before we fly.

If it helps have a look at this same campaign >> ikg26.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=riga41Bomber target map briefings were provided before each mission to make it more realistic for bombers instead of heading off blindly to target, DCG never provides enough ground targets for a bomber squad so manually editing the map after generation is the only way to go. At the same time a recon pic of the target/s can be taken in the FMB and posted before mission launch. I have been trying to find a way to implement the AI DF stuff with online stats but its very time consuming and creating stats for pilots manually is very laborious. Hence the delay in starting a campaign myself is due to time restrictions, if you need help just let me know.

Thanks Alpha. not sure thats theres enough interest in doing a regular campaign within the JG26 membership as evidence of the replies here in this thread. I like flying assorted co ops but after awhile like to get into something a bit more realistic and immersive. I do appr. the offer and if I can be of any help with the server and what your working on please just ask.

I started a new DCG based in tunsia 43/ flew the first test coop last night with YIP,Bluemorta,Wumpitz and myself. The action was furious and several squardrons of allied aircraft mostly british attacked our base just after takeoff. The map is small enough to allow for full real settings navagation should be very easy, although the speedbar will be included in the settings. Axis plane types fighters 109 G2,-G10 Fw190 A6-A9 Jabo aircraft Ju-87 BF-110's. Heavy Bombers will be available every 5th mission. Yip was credited with 6 kills Wumpitz with two Mossie's BlueMorta made an untimely exit after crashing, and I got waxed by a friggin A-20 shamefull. I will be running a few missions tonight anyone interested in helping out with these pesky British fighter pilots in the hot sands of Tunsia your help would be more than welcome.~S

This will allow for anyone interested in flying to become part of the campaign without being tied down to any certain time or day. I would hope to get some interest in doing the bombing part espically with the ME 410 would be great to have some bomber pilots and if that doesn't happen we can alternate between flying fighter missions in the F4 to doing a few ground attack missions in the 410 and leave our behinds to be protected by the AI.(Good Luck) Since the DCG does not provide enough targets for a squad of ground attack aircraft we can pick several targets and go after them in one sortie. Again great flying in the last few missions looking forward to the next ones.

~S Had some great missions yesterday Thanks to all who flew the campaign. JG26 Yip was the top ace with 6 kills in one sortie before getting lag and crashing. Myself Grayray ,Elwood, Lake, Bigs, Redcoat fine job in a desperate situation with what seemed like a never ending supply of Allied fighters. On another note we almost destroyed the P-38 squardron there down to only two flyable aircraft. Bring on those forked tail devils ~S
