S~ Mark your calendar now boys and girls. The 2007 gathering of Mustangs & Legends will be held in Columbus, OH next year at the Old Rickenbacker AFB (now Rickenbacker Airport). A recent such event in the past amassed 65 ponies and 12 old pilots to share history and tall tales of the skies over WWII tgts. www.stallion51.com/events/gml2006.cfmwww.stallion51.com/events/specialevents-gathering.cfm?axis_v=2Ever want to actually fly a P51? For a nominal fee, the good folks at Stallion 51 will take you up in their dual cockpit TF51 trainer called Crazy Horse. This looks like the makings of a IL2 pilot gathering to drool over the old war horses and meet up again. 8) If we planned it right it could also be host to a IL2 LAN Party. We would just need to kick it around and decide if we wanted to do it. Who knows, maybe BoB will be out by then. Irish

BTW, the event is on Sept 27-30th, 2007. Some of the FS lads may try to slip in as well. I have met Recon and he is a nice fellow.
It would be fun to meet a few of our JG26, KG26, NJG26 comrades as well as other comrades.
There are enough of you up in Canada to carpool down. I think that from Buffalo to Columbus is about 6 hrs so Toronto/Hamilton should not be more than 7ish I would think. I know a hotel downtown in the Arena District within crawling distance from two good brew pubs so what more do we need?

Hmmm -- Columbus is only about 4-5 hours away. That might be do-able!

I talked to Wind and he and his brother might try to roll in from Houston. This past week, Chuck Yeager came back to West Virginia from his current home in Cali, to participate in the dedication of a war memorial in Lincoln County. He still looks pretty spry for an 80 year old.
