Well some improvements in the air and graphics and the like but they really porked it when it comes to how it handles on the ground and during takeoff. The plane, standing stopped on the ground will weathervane into the wind direction, really!! This basic physics distorts the mechanics of take off, well as far as real flying is concerned, just talk to a real pilot about it. Taking off directly into the wind is fine, any other circumstance is another matter. I could get into it but you know it is not worth the effort. I hope they sort this out eventually..

You need to put in chocks and use the proper techniques, once you learn them takeoff and ground handling is no problem. If you have a crosswind you need to use rudder trim to account for wind. The 109 has a lot of engine torque so you have to throttle up gently and use trim for takeoff. I find it more realistic for flying than IL2 46. If you like Scannon and I can assist you with some training.
