S~:
We are now using HSFX 5.01 for the Fall Gelb campaign So we wanted to make sure all pilots review the final check list and make sure you have all of the following correctly installed.
Pre Flight Check list
1. Game Version HSFX 5.01
HSFX 5.01 has many new features including drivable vehicles, new airplanes, entrenched infantry, mortar teams, and new ground vehicles and tanks. No more tanks firing at planes like they do in UP, and the ground movement and flight models on expert mode is a nice addition. Wait till you drive a kublewagon or jeep for recon or forward air controller missions!
Below is the link to the 242 squadron website for installation and download links. This version installs over a version of IL2 patched to version 4.101. In the JG26 forum we have a link to the website and a brief tutorial on the installation process (see thread Flight requirements for JG26).
Download HSFX Mod version 5.0 www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2544
Download HSFX Mod version 5.01 Hot Fix www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2567
Download Sound fix
dl.dropbox.com/u/26976891/fb_hfxsounds.sfs
2. Installed Fall Gelb Map
France Campaign Map for HSFX 5.01 Fall Gelb SEOW + Technics
www.gamefront.com/files/20296808/Fall+Gelb.rar
Extract folder and place in jsgmemods folder. This is the map that you have to enable in your jsgme mods folder during official Fall Gelb Campaign missions
3. Make sure you have the skins and map fix installed correctly installed. NEW Fall Gelb Skin Pack download here
www.gamefront.com/files/20264419/Fall+Gelb+Skins.rar
Install in your PaintSchemes folder of your IL2 main directory
4. Open your Config.ini file that is located in your main IL2 game directory. Make sure you turn off eventlog file and make eventlogkeep=0
Make sure you turn of console log so
[Console]
LOG=0
LOGTIME=0
LOGFILE=log.lst
LOGKEEP=0
also Mission loading bug error can come from compression This is a big map so in Render Open Gl Set text compression to 2
[Render_OpenGL]
TexCompress=2
now save and close Config.ini
Now the hyper lobby settings should be as follows:
[IL-2 Sturmovik 1946]
joinDelay=20
clientRate=5000
5. FOG of War Feature: Your call sign in your menu screen no longer needs to have a "B_" or "R_". So make sure your call sign and your hyperlobby call sign are the same. To do this start your game at the main menu screen you will see a button under the Pilot Roster, click the Pilot button. This will bring you to a screen that displays "Name", "Call Sign", and "Last Name". Make sure your call sign name does not have the " B_ " or "R_" in front of your call sign. Remove it if it does your commander should have registered you as eithe an Axis pilot or Allied pilot. If you are not registered when you enter the game you will not see any planes to select in the ready room. Blue registered pilots will see axis planes and Red registered pilots will see allied planes. This adds to the Fog of War realism of this campaign.
6. JSGME should have the following enabled
HSFX history mod
Hackenkruz Enabler
Expert Mode (netversion HSFXv5.0)
Fall Gelb
Perfect Map (optional)
6DOF_Tracker_2_0-shr (optional)
Also for there are expanded memory EXE that are located in the HSFX V5 Tools & Read me's folder in the IL2 main directory. Please not the different expanded memory exe are located in your HSFX 5.0 Readme folder All_Ivans_il2_exe_s. Just unzip and place into your jsgme mods folder, then activate that mod. We recommend that you test the exe if you are having problems with the memory issues. If this is the case find one that works best with your system if you have any problems. The default should be sufficient for use however the 512 .exe or 512MB 6DOF for those with track ir 6 DOF.
7. Make sure your Track IR, Joystick, Teamspeak is all working prior to launch time. We have provided a Teamspeak 3 server IP for all the campaign participants via Op4 Lobby. The IP is 208.74.9.26 port 9987, no password required. The server will run a security check the first time you connect so just allow it to run. Then join your respective HQ channel. Since there is a limit on the # of clients the Allies have TS channel of Tides of War IP is 208.100.9.177port 4230 channl pw is NoDrama.
8. The ready screen is sensitive to scrolling and opening the chat line using the cursor.
The order to pilots :> after clicking "fly", be sure to make no keyboard or mouse input, just be patient. Put your hands elsewhere if you must.
9. JG26_EZ has created some very nice navigational maps for all the pilots. Just download them and print them out if you need that for your desktop. It is highly recommended to have a map to navigate and identify targets in the full real environment.
10. Games will launch on time so be on time for your mission if you are not going to be able to fly contact your respective commanders in advance, so they are able to adjust their plans. Also be considerate of others that it may be late night starts for some timezones so be on time and ready to go.
11. Once you are in ready room check your way points and then hit fly so we can launch on time. Again remember The order to pilots :> after clicking "fly", be sure to make no keyboard or mouse input, just be patient. Put your hands elsewhere if you must.
Please note that SEOW has added some temporary runways at bases that are not in the Battle of France Map. These are steel runways and the AI will take off similar to the way they behave on takeoffs and landings on an aircraft carrier. So you must release chocks to take off. When landing do not taxi off the runway or you will blow up! Just move to the side and put in your chocks, or exit the game after you have successfully landed.
12. Use the Headquarters Bunkers for either allies or axis for discussing strategy, tactics, intelligence, etc. You will be working with team mates from different timezones together in this campaign so communicate and get to know them. It is not necessary to always fly with your own squadrons or your favorite plane. Try to accomplish whatever your specific mission task may be. Visit the Mission planner and see how the campaign progress and you will see how awesome SEOW program truly is. The MP link is 188.40.123.132/SEOW/MP4public/Scripts/default.php
All registered pilots received a login name and pw to the mission planner. If you have questions see your respective commanders.
We have some very experienced SEOW people that are participating in the campaign ask them and they will give you tips, but you must take the initiative. No question is stupid or dumb. Remember everyone can plan at least twice, so observe and learn and get involved and use the mission planner.
13. Most importantly have fun! We want this to be a challenging and rewarding experience for all the participants but also want you to have some fun. Remember at the end of the day we are all just playing a game so keep that in mind. We hope that you will like to experience more SEOW and run your own SEOW campaigns.
So download and install the new HSFX 5.01s and take a few test flights with Expert mode enabled. If you have any technical questions direct them to the 242nd Forum and they will assist you. Once we have all pilots with the the latest version of HSFX 5.01 we will run a few tests then hopefully transition to using HSFX 5.01 for duration of the Fall Gelb campaign. The future SEOW campaigns will use HSFX 5.01 and the new latest SEOW MP and database SEDB33A which has just been released. The admin team has been working on transition and migration of the database so to make the transition as easy and seamless as possible for all participants. We are fortunate to have some members of the development team both of SEOW and HSFX that are participating in the Fall Gelb campaign or are visitors to our forum. So I want to personally thank both IV/JG7_4Shades, II/JG77Hawk_5, 1./JaVA_Sjonnie, PA_Dore, 242sqn_Chap, No457_Squog, JG26_Sandhog, JG26_EZ, JG26_Scannon and others for their contributions to the IL2 community.
Hope this helps.
