JG26 Operation Fall Gelb SEOW Template Design Guide
This guide is to assist template designers in the placement of objects using the FMB. With regard to disposition of forces that are as historically accurate as possible for May, 10, 1940. The SEOW wiki How to Create a Template is a good guide for aspiring SEOW template designers. wiki-seow-en.swil.fr/index.php/How_to_create_a_TemplateEach respective commander from each side ( Red Team -Netherlands, Belgium, France, Great Britain Blue Team-Germany) will receive a mission file with the borders and aircraft already attached to the respective air fields and the BOF OB spreadsheet. All the template builder needs to do is add the ground units in the areas of the map under their control. The Battle of France OB.XL is a spreadsheet was developed to assist template builders with the distribution of forces using the FMB. Guidelines for Template Builders1. Template builders are prohibited from placing any objects within 10km or one grid section of the DMZ (demilitarized zone). No objects from either Red or Blue should be placed in Luxembourg ( neutral country) [BH1,BI2-BI4,BJ5,BK6,BL7,BL7-BL3,BM2,BN1] Example of DMZ Allied DMZ border:BJ27 to BJ23 BK22 to BK21 BJ20 to BI14 BJ13 to BK12 BK11 to BK8 BJ7 BI6 to BI4 BH3 to BH1 Blue DMZ border:BK27 to BL23 BL23 to BL20 BK-19 BJ19 to BJ15 BK-14 BL-13 to BL11 BM10 to BM 4 2. Template builders must use the agreed upon FMB insert # for the initial template for initialization. The numbers are in scale of 10% for playability factors. The admin will add reserves to supply points after initialization. Below is a map grid reference for placement of ground forces. S~ All: For those of you who are interested in the Order of Battle for Fall Gelb campaign, the links below will give you an approximate for disposition of forces May 10, 1940. We used this site as well as numerous book ("The Battle of France then and now" by Peter Cornwell to find the proper balance for game play. Initially the admin team has reduced the ratio to approximately 10% numbers For example if the Luftwaffe had 2500 AC available then for our scenario that would be 250 planes total. www.ordersofbattle.darkscape.net/site/ww2/drleo/500_eto/_40-05_france.htmlHope this is helpful S~: JG26_Badger

Historical Background This campaign is set up to represent to distribution of forces for the combatants on May 10, 1940. The SEOW Order of Battle for the JG26 Fall Gelb Campaign is based upon a scale of the historical forces on May 10, 1940 for the different countries. Fot game play approximately 10% is used for the campaign for ground units ( AAA, tanks, field artillery, infantry, vehicles etc) and 20% for air units (aircraft)
Below is the guide to be used for the template builders for initial placement of force units. Guidelines for Template Builders 1. Just a few notes for mission planners and pilots. There are several temporary airbases in Belgium and the Netherlands so you need to release chocks to take off. When landing do not taxi off runways or you will explode. You can just taxi to the side and put in your chocks if you wish to remain in the game. Once you have landed successfully and turned your engine off you can leave the game.
