Hallo alles!
Kommodore Rall and me are the last pilots of CFS JG57. As we couldn't find new pilots to reform the Geschwader, we've decided to move to more crowded skies shifting to IL2.
JG26 looks like offering what we're expecting to find in a Luftwaffe squad, that is training, team work, and the thrill of battle.
Let me know if you are looking for new pilots, we'll be happy to join your ranks.

~S~ alles!
Herr Tanzer is correct. We are looking for a home. Tanzer and I will be attending Joint Operations IL2 Basic flight school in April. And look forward to skies full of aircraft. I flew in furballs with a member of JG26 during the last days of the zone and we used some of the aircraft from his downloads page in our squad. ~S~ to Nosferti. I know I probably spelled that wrong but I am sure you know who I mean. Herr Tanzer is available now, But I am having problems with my PC right now. However, I assure you all that I will get this problem fixed. Hope to see you all in the virtual skies soon. JG57_Rall

S! and welcome to IL-2, gentlemen We are allways interested in experienced pilots joining us ! Please check our homebase at www.freewebs.com/jagdgeschwader26/index.htm, especially our code of conduct there, if you havent already. Usually there is a short flight check, before you can fly with us in JG26-uniform (see jg26.proboards32.com/index.cgi?board=recruitingOffice&action=display&thread=1106665751 ) Not as a big deal as it seems at the first sight, main reason here is to get to know each other better. Just send a pager message in HyperLobby to one or two of us or let me know when you will have time for it. If you have any further questions regarding IL-2-stuff, dont hessitate to ask your questions here in the forum. I am sure the answers wont take long. Looking forward to fly with you in those unfriendly skies S! JG26_Brubaker

~S~, und danke sehr...for the quick reply.
I'm happy with JG26 code of conduct; JG57 was quite similar in many aspects, so I guess we should quickly feel at home in JG26 whenever we are allowed to enlist.
Although I'm rather new to IL2FB, I'm currently training offline in order to be ready to attend the flight check. Hope our former CFS experience in combat will help us bring our contribution to coming JG26 successes.
Now about questions: I have noticed JG26 currently fights over the Kursk area in '43; does the squad fly on a particular theater of operations or time of war? and does the squad (and its opponents) fly aircraft of that particular period? Also, can each pilot have his personal aircraft skin, provided it obviously includes JG26 'Schlageter' shield? How are pilots assigned to a Staffel or an aircraft-type? does it depend on pilot's skill on a given aircraft and/or type of mission? Who are the usual opponents of JG26 and what do they mostly fly?
Thanks by advance.

S!
I'll let EZ respond to your specific questions. We tend to fly all kinds of birds in all theaters. Depends on whose hosting and the mission. Our campaigns are Axis.
I went through the Joint Ops program -- great primer for IL2. Be sure and greet training officer Funflak for me. I flew with him in CFS1. Welcome to the friendly skies.

OK thanks for the answer. Yes I've noticed reading the debriefing posts that you fly birds that are historically accurate regarding the TO, and I really like that.
I've already applied for the coming flight school sessions at JO as Rall has already mentioned. Sure it's a good way to convert to a new sim.
One more question by the way: is there any restriction in JG26 online games about the kind of cockpit view pilots use? (I mean flying with fully visible panel or with the 'no cockpit' view)

I guess we all do not like arcade settings like "no cockpit view" . We stay in the cockpit , and we have to watch our controls ! In the coops we like to play with external view on ! For those who died or downed, it is boring if no external view is on. People which have finished their mission can watch out and view other players ! There is a simple rule : The host decides the settings !

OK sure cockpit view is definitely more realistic and I'm OK with that. But I prefer being aware of which view other players use, as it is a slight advantage to use 'no cockpit view', like it was in CFS. I consider it's realistic to rock your wings when you need to see what's below, and to watch around to track your enemies rather than just following red arrows. More difficult obviously, but it's like what I read in books like 'Le Grand Cirque' when I was a teenager.
